Xiaomi, Redmi, Poco: these three names are one brand, behind some of the best-selling phones around, starting with the Redmi Note. When one breaks down, the first instinct is often to buy a new one. Yet in many cases a repair is enough, and saves you setting everything up again.
Xiaomi, Redmi or Poco: what's the difference?
Xiaomi is the name for high-end models such as the Xiaomi 13 and 14. Redmi covers everyday phones: entry-level Redmi models and the very popular Redmi Note. Poco is aimed at people who want power, especially for gaming. To find your exact model, open Settings › About phone: its full name is shown there.
Repair or buy new?
On a mid-range phone, it's a fair question. Our quote is free and comes with no obligation: you know the price of the repair before deciding, and can compare it with the price of a new phone. By repairing, you keep your photos, apps and settings, with no data transfer and no new setup.
The most common faults
The screen comes first. On high-end Xiaomi phones and most recent Redmi Note models, the screen is AMOLED: after a drop, green or purple lines or a spreading black spot mean the display is damaged. Entry-level Redmi phones, such as the Redmi 13C, have an LCD screen.
The USB-C charging port is the second most common fault: packed-in dust, worn pins, a phone that only charges at a certain angle. We also repair batteries, cameras, back glass, sound, buttons and phones that have been dropped in water.
